Educational Institutions of Friends in Africa

  • Great Lakes School of Theology, Bujumbura: An Evangelical Friends International project in Burundi. The school was established in 1999 and provides theological training for students from Burundi, Congo and Rwanda.
  • Friends Theological College- Kaimosi: Started as a Bible school in Lugulu, Kenya in 1946, then moved to Kaimosi in the late 1950's, renamed as Friends Bible Institute.   • Friends College of Technology- Kaimosi: A college that was started in 1972 by the East Africa Meeting of Friends and has been training students in skills, like accounts, secretarial work, and food technology.
  • Vihiga Bible College: Located at Kidundu Friends Church in Vihiga Yearly Meeting, Kenya. They offer basic theological training specifically for evangelists and pastors.
  • Friends Junior Primary School (Boarding): Is a Quaker boarding primary school for gifted students based in Kaimosi, Kenya, that admits students from different parts of the country.
  • Kaimosi Friends Special School: National boarding primary school for intellectually challenged students, located in Kaimosi, Western Kenya. Admits students from all over the country.
