Quaker Organizations in Africa
- Evangelical Friends International/ Africa
Region: Represents Friends
from Burundi, Rwanda and Congo and aims to develop strong leadership
among Friends in the region who are able to face the current challenges
and those who are capable to make a difference for the glory of

- Friends
United Meeting Africa Ministries (FUM-AM): Although Friends
United Meeting have been present in Kenya since 1902 they had not
established an office in Africa. Therefore they set up an office
in Kisumu, Kenya, for the purpose of evangelizing, enhancing communication
and leadership training. The African Representative is John Muhanji
who is assisted by Field Agents Eden and James Grace. Website:

- Friends Church in Kenya (FCK): is
a body that unites all the Quaker Yearly Meetings in Kenya. They
act as the official spokes people for Friends in Kenya. The headquarters
is in Kakamega. The chairperson is Jacob Nayole.
- Quaker Men Is an organization which
brings together men who are Quakers to discuss issues of concern
on peace and development. Each Yearly Meeting organizes its own
Quaker Men group, which then operates independently of other Yearly
Meetings.
- United Society of Friends Women- Kenya
(USFW): Is an
organization which brings together women who are Quakers, but unlike
Quaker Men, they do have a national body that brings the different
Yearly Meeting groups together. USFW- Kenya is a member of USFW-International.
Uganda Yearly Meeting has applied to join the international organization
and hope to start their own branch shortly.
- Young Quaker Christian Association (YQCA): It is an organization
that brings together all young Quakers from Africa, between the
ages of 18-35. They have a desk at the FWCC-Africa Section office
in Nairobi. They hold their triennial conferences after every three
years, the next one will be held in Burundi in November, 2006.
They are also hosting the World Gathering of Young Friends - Africa
in Mombasa, Kenya, in October 2005.
