African Young Friends

In 2003 a desk was set up in the FWCC Africa Section office at Ngong Road, Nairobi, for the Young Friends Representative for Africa — Bainito Khayongo Wamalwa. From here he has been able to coordinate Young Friends activities. Bainito is also the coordinator for the World Gathering of Young Friends and YQCA (Young Quakers Christian Association).

On October 20-24, 2005, a World Gathering of Young Friends was held in Kanamai, on the coast of Kenya. This was held as a post gathering event for the World Gathering in Lancaster, U.K., in August 2005, as only a few African delegates were able to get visas to go to the U.K. gathering.
